Applies to: Local management access to a Tenda router; the correct address and interface depend on your configuration.
First establish that your phone or computer is connected to the router you want to manage. Tenda’s local management address depends on that connection. This independent help website is not your router’s login screen and does not need your router password.
Identify the failure you can actually see
- A search-results page: type the management address into the browser address bar, rather than submitting it as a search.
- A timeout or blank page: check the connected network and the router’s actual local address.
- A login screen rejecting a password: the page is reachable; this is a different problem from a network timeout.
- A certificate warning: verify the device and address using its official documentation. Do not apply instructions for an unrelated public website.
Check the path to the intended router
Confirm the Wi-Fi network name, or trace the Ethernet cable to the intended device. Tenda notes that simultaneous network connections can interfere with access. On a managed work device, ask the administrator before changing connection or VPN settings.
Find the current router address in the connected network’s details. Common defaults are not universal: an administrator may have changed the address. In a network with a separate gateway and access point, the gateway can belong to a different box, so compare the device identity before entering credentials.
Run a two-device comparison
Try the same verified address from a second device on the same network. If one opens it and the other does not, compare browsers and connection details on the failing device. Tenda suggests another browser when cached information interferes. If both fail, return to the address and physical connection checks before clearing settings or resetting hardware.
Record enough detail for the next step
Keep the model, hardware version, connection method, exact error wording and whether a second device worked. These observations narrow the problem far more than repeatedly trying passwords. Keep passwords and serial numbers out of public posts. A working internet connection alone does not prove you are connected to the specific router you intend to configure.
