Tenda AC10 disappears from app management after a mode change

Browse the topic library

Applies to: AC10 v1.0 behavior documented by Tenda. Check the support material for other hardware revisions.

A mode change can explain missing app management even when Wi-Fi still works. Tenda documents AC10 app management for routing mode and says it is unavailable in AP or wireless repeating modes. If the router disappeared from the app immediately after that change, check the mode before reinstalling anything.

Build a short before-and-after record

  • Which operating mode was selected before the problem?
  • Which mode is selected now?
  • Does a device connected through the AC10 still reach the internet?
  • Can you open the AC10’s local management interface?
  • Did the problem begin before or after switching modes?

These answers distinguish a management limitation from a loss of connectivity. An app listing is only one observation; it does not tell you whether every part of the network is functioning.

If the AC10 is in AP or repeating mode

Use the local management method documented for the device and keep the mode that suits your network. Switching back to routing mode just to restore app access changes the network arrangement. Decide whether that tradeoff is appropriate before making it, especially if another router already manages the household connection.

If the AC10 is in routing mode

Tenda’s app guide starts with a configured AC10 that can reach the internet. Check that condition first. For local app discovery, connect the phone to the AC10 Wi-Fi. The documented remote-management route involves binding the router to the intended Tenda app account. Compare the account you are using with the existing setup rather than creating extra accounts or repeatedly unbinding devices.

Confirm the outcome you wanted

Test internet access and the chosen management method separately. If local management works but the app still does not, record the app version, phone platform, AC10 revision and operating mode for manufacturer support. Do not publish account details, login passwords or screenshots containing credentials.

This article explains a documented AC10 limitation. It does not claim that every Tenda router has the same app behavior. A factory reset is a disruptive step and does not remove a limitation of the selected mode.
